Mini Kickers Under 8’s

Learning Taekwon-do at a young age carries many benefits and is a great way of helping energetic little characters to learn to focus. To learn some of the benefits of martial arts for kids, take a look here!

While working in a co-operative environment, our Mini Kickers will have so much fun with the group whilst concentrating on the basics. This will include working on good stances, fundamental movements, balance, breath control and coordination – as well as developing a basic level of fitness and flexibility.

Children Under 12’s

Our Taekwondo-do classes for children are aimed specifically for those aged under 12 years of age. Again, your child will develop improved levels of concentration, self-discipline and self-confidence without Taekwondo class. Your child will gain many attributes through the benefits of Taekwondo-Do training helping them to succeed throughout the crucial development stages of early life. We ensure that our instructors and advanced younger students are role models to others within the school and follow key principles to prevent and respond to bullying.

Junior (U14’s, U16’s, U8s)

Thames Valley Taekwondo-Do equips you with devastatingly fast and easy to learn skills that you will not learn anywhere else. We promote the healthy development of young people through sport with changes seen in motor skills development, performance and we promote the positive relationship between being involved in physical activity and psychological development.

We welcome all abilities and we accommodate all juniors regardless of what their goal outcomes of our classes are. We also welcome and assist all juniors that want to participate in the ITF Taekwon-Do juniors program.

Senior (18-39)

Our students are looked at as individuals, each with their own goals and desires that may be different than other students. All that we require is a willingness to try and a heart to learn.

The principles of Taekwon-Do techniques are based on the design of your body. For power, you develop the larger, powerful muscles of the torso. The speed of the techniques comes from the fast, agile muscles of the arms and legs. As you progress in Taekwon-Do you will learn to coordinate this speed and power. Your speed, agility, flexibility and control will improve. As will your cognitive functions such as self-control, focus and reasoning. Taekwon-Do is also an effective way to improve mental health.

Veterans (40+ years)

Staying active is key to a long healthy life. Taekwon-Do burns 400 calories an hour and helps to:

  • Lower your blood pressure
  • Improve your health
  • Improve your flexibility
  • Keep your mind sharp
  • Stay supple
  • Enjoy a new social environment
  • Enjoy fun and varied sessions
